Lab researchers at January conferences

Goni Peles, Elliot Simpson and James Saunders presented papers at two conferences in January.

Goni and Elliot presented their work at the New Mimesis: simulation, models, metaphors and data in music symposium run by Orpheus Instituut and Canterbury Christ Church. Elliot presented his work with animator Mandy Toderian on the sonification of f-curves and keyframe data from animations to produce dynamic scores. Goni presented a new version of his ScoreCraft project, which included live demonstrations involving online players from around the world (see video below).

James presented a paper on participatory decision-making in music at the Rethinking participatory processes through music symposium at University of Huddersfield. James discussed strategies for developing compositional techniques to encourage player decision making, particularly in relation to his recent piece for KNM Berlin and CoMA played at Klangwerkstatt.
